Drilling and Sampling Considerations for Assessment of Mine Tailings

Improvements in processing technologies, increased commodity prices and new markets for commodities have resulted in an increased amount of exploration and exploitation of tailings storage facilities (TSF). Data collection is key in assessing a TSF deposit prior to undertaking any Mineral Resource Estimate (Compliant with International Reporting Codes). This presentation will discuss sampling, surveying (laser scanners and drones), drilling, density measurements and mine production/material movements used in determining the economic potential of TSF as well as highlighting some key environmental advantages of reprocessing mine tailings material.
